Students participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) or who have completed a Career and Technologies Studies (CTS) apprenticeship pathway may be eligible for one of the 500 RAP/CTS Scholarships of $1,000 each.
All students who will have graduated from high school in June 2012 or earlier, are registered apprentices or plan to continue their apprenticeship training after graduation are invited to apply. Apprentices who apply for the RAP/CTS scholarship must have at least one period of technical training remaining in order to claim the scholarship.
RAP/CTS Scholarships are designed to recognize the accomplishments of Alberta high school students participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) or who have completed a Career and Technologies Studies (CTS) apprenticeship pathway and to encourage students to continue their apprenticeship training after completing high school.
The funds for the scholarships are provided from a joint investment of contributions from the private sector and the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund.

Hairstylists please note: to receive your scholarship cheque you must attend apprenticeship training at one of the two approved training providers in Alberta. The approved providers are: Eveline Charles Academy in Edmonton or Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics in Calgary. Attendance at other institutions will not be considered for payment.
Apprentices must attend technical training in order to receive their scholarship cheque. Apprentices who chose to challenge the Apprenticeship and Industry Training exam will not be eligible for payment. Only technical training that is part of a regular Alberta apprenticeship program will be recognized for payment of scholarship awards. Selection
Selection of scholarship recipients is made by a committee established by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board.
Recipients will be selected on the basis of their employer recommendation, high school recommendation, marks and short description of themselves.
Applicants will be notified of the status of their application by November 30, 2012.
