Sponsored by: WorldSkills Calgary 2009. The Government of Alberta will manage these scholarships as part of the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund.
Purpose: To help Alberta students and apprentices participating in provincial, national and international skills competitions to further their post-secondary education and support their skills training.
Value: Three awards. Two valued at $500 and one valued at $9,000 over a period of two years.
Albertans:
Application: No application is required. Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education will contact eligible recipients.
Deadline: There is no deadline as scholarships are awarded based on a recipient’s success at the Annual Skills Canada competition and their selection for Team Alberta or Team Canada.
Disbursement: Recipients will be notified by Skills Canada Alberta if they are successful and will receive the scholarship when they attend or continue post-secondary education. Recipients can use the scholarship for any post-secondary field of study. Recipients must use the scholarship within 5 years of being awarded.
